Showers and more showers

Rain or no rain, Saturday morning was scheduled to be Washington City's first annual Dogtown Half Marathon. Back in the day, supposedly, before Washington became a big residential town, people from St. George would bring their dogs to roam... kind of like a dog park. So they decided to call a race after the city's first nickname. I hurt my knee less than a week earlier and worried I wouldn't be able to run. But I decided if my knee were to give out, I could always just walk home since the route was so close to our place. My friend Andrea Hill decided to give it a whirl with me and to our surprise, we finished! And the rain wasn't so bad... just a little sprinkle here and there. Cold and slightly wet, but not near as bad as expected by most. Matt and the kids were great to cheer me on along the course and it was fun to see so many other familiar faces. On the last couple of miles, Andrea was great to let me listen to "Love is a Highway" by Rascal Flatts to give me that extra boost to keep going. Thanks Andrea! And thanks to my family for their support in letting me run.

Saturday night I helped host my cousin Kali's baby shower, along with her mother-in-law Tia and BIL's girlfriend Kyann, at Kali's new home in St. George. Her little girl Vivienne Hazel is due the end of April so it was fun to join in on the anticipated arrivial of her first baby. I didn't get too many pictures, but enjoyed the night's company and yummy food.

Way to go for finishing the half with a bum knee! I love running in the rain if it's just a sprinkle. You Rock!
