Bountiful Triathlon
So I just completed my second tri and have to say that I'm kind of addicted. I love the versitility of the sport even though swimming has never been a strong area. Really, none of the three have been super strong sports for me, but I love the motivation to push myself to get better and better. Since we were going to be around Bountiful the same weekend I decided to give myself something to continue training for. The race started and ended at the South Davis Recreation Center (The Bubble) with a 3.35 mile run, 11.35 mile bike, and a 350 m swim. It was fun to do a tri backwards (most tri's begin with the swim). My final time was 1:22 - 9th overrall in my division with 6th in the bike.
All the proceeds went to the Hess Cancer Society so it was fun to see all the volunteers lending a hand for a good cause. The majority of the bike ride was along the Legacy Highway and it was beautiful. Though I could feel the altitude shift, it was nice to breathe the crisp mountain air. :)
The best part of the whole race - seeing Matt and the kids at every transition and at the finish line. They're so great to support me!

Rett and Mom were so happy to see each other for the first time that morning!

Way to go, Andrea!!! You are an inspiration to me to get in shape--keep it up.
That is so awesome!! I feel like I'm always trying to keep up with you. Maybe in a few years I will attempt the tri. For now, I'm just going to stick with running. Sometime when your up and have a minute, call us, we would love to get together!
