Week with Grandma and Grandpa Garner

The week following Abby's surgery, we stayed with my parents until Matt met up with us the next weekend. We had so much fun! A trip with Mom and Dad I will never forget. Both were great to spend time with us every day, whether it was during the day, at night, or both. We had lunch together one day, shopped a little, saw the lights at Temple Square and went for a ride on a horse drawn carriage, and played lots and lots of games each night. Mom and I (and Matt and Rita when they arrived) even put together a 2000 piece Gone With The Wind puzzle! We kept saying that we were crazy to even attempt it, but oh what a sense of accomplishment when we finished! Thank you both so much for a fun week! Can't wait to spend time with you again. We were also able to meet up with a few friends - Elise and her kids, Sigrid, and Donnarae - and lots of family at the annual Rigby Bingo Party.

Grandpa having fun with Abby's hospital hat

The night before surgery she was running around and laughing with Grandpa.

Just before bed, Grandma was so nice to sit with her and watch a princess movie.

Everett meeting Benson for the very first time

Only six weeks apart and look at the sizes of those feet!

The day after Abby's surgery, we got to see Adelyn perform in her Christmas dance recital... go Ady!

And Abby was even brave enough to sit on Santa's lap. Since it was kind of difficult for her to speak loud enough, Santa had a hard time hearing what she wanted for Christmas. Hopefully she still got what she wanted.

Abby and Grandpa built block castles almost every night of the week. When they got them as tall as possible, Grandpa would blow them down. Abby just giggled and smiled the whole time.

Temple Square

We first made a quick pit stop at the museum where Grandma volunteers every week.

I love this picture of Rett. We have one almost exactly like it of Abby at the exact same age when we first took her to Temple Square. Both bright eyed and cozied up for the night.

Grandpa wanted all of the girls to go for a ride on a horse drawn carriage. We had a blast singing Christmas carols and watching all the other horses and sightseers. Thank you Grandpa! And thank you for watching the babies with Uncle Tom.

Abby got two princess dress-up sets from the Bingo Party. She had fun dressing Rett up the next day!

I'm so glad you guys were able to be with mom and dad. I'll admit I'm jealous though. I wish Hattie could spend that kind of time with her grandparents and have them see her grow up.

what a fun Christmastime you had! I really wish we could have been there with you guys! I am actually thinking we might need to come to UT next Christmas. We haven't been there since Jaxon was a newborn! I really want to take the kids skiing on some real snow and especially let them spend the time with Grandma and Grandpa G! Thanks for sharing such fun pics.
Izzy and Abby actually got 2 similar gifts--Princess Memory and Snow White! Fun.

Andrea, We had such a wonderful week with you, Abby and Rett here! With our family all spread out across the nation, I'll have to admit one great advantage is that we get to spend one-on-one time when our children do come home. And, I will also have to admit that was a good feeling to get that 2,000-piece puzzle completed! It was great visiting with you each evening while we were bent over putting the pieces together.
