Christmas Eve and Morning
For Christmas this year, we spent most of it at our place with just the four of us. I think in all seven years of marriage, this made spending Christmas "alone" for the second time. The only difference this time was that we had two kids to share it with. We had a great time and couldn't have asked for more. The best gift we received this year is little Everett. He has been a blessing to each of us every single day of his life and we feel lucky to have him!
On the Eve, we did our traditional stocking stuffer shopping. Matt took Abby and I took Rett and we shopped for the other two. We had $5.55 to spend on each person and it was so fun to see what the other came up with. Matt of course went over by a few dollars and I by only $.13. Boo yeah!
Afterwards, we went and ate at Applebee's for an early dinner and then drove around town to see Christmas lights. We were lucky to catch a trombone quartet at someone's doorstep. So we rolled our windows down (because you can this time of year in St. George) and enjoyed some musical caroling.
When we got home, we had the kids open pajamas and ate Pistachio Dessert (I decided this will be my new traditional Christmas dessert). Then we watched White Christmas (always a favorite) by the lighted Christmas tree and had fun stuffing stockings.
Abby fell asleep on the way home from looking at lights and took her time waking up.
The idea of opening her Christmas pajamas did the trick! Of course she opened all of Rett's presents and actually was tired of it by the end of Christmas day.
Both in their monkey pj's!
Eating dessert while watching White Christmas. Rett's dessert was Dad's thumb.

Matt made a sausage egg casserole and bran muffins Christmas morning. Abby put Nutella on hers - chocolate always makes things better in her mind.
Cheeser grin with the new camera! Probably can't even tell a difference. We have some playing around to do with the new gadget before we master it.
Ya, he slept through all the gift opening!
New princess bike helmet that Abby just didn't want to take off all morning.
She got a princess memory game as well as a Mickey Mouse one. And what do you know? She enjoys lining and stacking the cards up more than actually playing the game.
Rett with a toy from Grandma and Grandpa Garner
TRADITION! TRADITION! Da da da da da Tradition! My mom always took pictures of us with all of our gifts so I decided to do the same this year.
Family gifts - THANK YOU Mom and Dad for the awesome camcorder! We're loving it!
