Everett's First Week!

Note: Yes, we are nicknaming him Rett. Some of you have asked so just wanted to clarify. I still can't decide what to call him more right now - by his full name or nickname. He seems to fit both quite well.

My mom just left this morning so I'm having to adjust with life on my own! That is, without any help during the day. And she was all that and more, let me tell you! There's nothing like having your mom around after having a baby. They make it all better. She has given me the confidence that I can do this - that I can be a mother of two! I'm still getting used to saying that.

Everett's first week has been one full of feedings, sleepings, errand-running, and picture-taking! Yes, we did get out of the house quite a bit. I learned that is something my mom and I have in common. We need to get out everyday to avoid insanity! And Everett slept through almost all of it. It was nice to have another adult to push a second shopping cart around. Utah stores seriously need to consider adapting Costco's shopping cart idea with all the kids there are!

He did have jaundice for the first few days so we put him in the sunlight whenever possible. He's all better now, just a bit yellow in some pictures.

Happy and content after yet another feeding.

Abby's new pajamas from the Spencer family. Thank you for remembering her too!

Abby has gotten so good at coloring in her coloring book. I've been impressed with how well she stays in the lines.

Abby didn't see me take this picture... I found her like this after church on Sunday. Already she's sharing her love for books with her little brother.

Chuck-a-Rama with Grandma and Grandpa Garner. This was Everett's first night out and we just had to take him to one of our favorite places!

Everett's first bath! And he did not like it. He was not a happy boy until he was all dressed and eating from Mom!

I don't think she could be much happier than she was in this pic.

Already looking like a little man!
Matt was great to offer his babysitting services for an entire night to let Mom and me go to Footloose at Tuacahn. I pumped milk all day to last for the night and Matt still had to use some formula. This boy can eat! The show was awesome though (a first time for both of us) and we had fun spending some one-on-one together. Thanks for the tickets Mom and Matt for letting us get away.

Andrea,

What a CUTE little MAN!! If I were Abby, I'd be snuggling up to him, too. My favorite is the one at the end. Also the picture of Rett with you and Matt in the hospital is perfect. You all look sooooooooooooo happy...rightfully so.

Congrats to a beautiful family. (:
