Christmas 2007

Before heading out to Utah, we had a small Christmas of our own. My favorite gift that Matt gave to me was a Transformer keychain. :)

We flew into Utah on December 13th, the day after Matt's VERY LAST FINAL!!! Woohoo!!! We spent the first week in Bountiful with the Garner Fam. Ashley and I got together with good ole forever friends Elise and Sigrid. Elise brought her little Max along and Ash and I had our lil' munchkins. We went to Cafe Rio... since I don't have one back home and we all love it anyways. Good times had by all. Thanks Girls for a fun night!

Mom got everyone tickets to the Mormon Tabernacle Christmas Concert for Saturday night. So we left the kids with babysitters and had a fun night downtown. After the concert, we went to the Lion House for soup and their famous rolls and carrot cake. Not only was the performance and the lights beautiful, the company couldn't have been better. We had so much fun laughing and getting caught up.

We drove to Hinckley a few days before Christmas to be with the Ekins. Abby swung in the swing Grandpa installed inside...

We played lots of Monopoly... and even stayed up one night until 3:45 a.m.!!! It came down to Tom and me. I even offered the game to him, but he insisted I keep playing until it was over. Well, lets just say I'm kind of glad I did because, well, I won. I was still recovering a week later, but it was worth it. :)

Abby fed herself for the first time!!! She loved Grandpa Ekins' homemade applesauce.

One of Abby's favorite Christmas gifts was a play table from the Spencer's.

She especially loved sitting IN the table rather than AT the table.

And then Santa Clause showed up with a bag of candy and peanuts. Abby wasn't very sure of him and refused to sit on his lap. Maybe next year.

I loved the stocking Matt used for my Christmas goodies... one of Abby's socks!

I had fun making his as we forgot ours from home.

Abby's other favorite Christmas present was a box full of books from Grandma Garner. Oh how she LOVES books.

Grandma Garner also gave Abby her first baby doll. She was excited at first, but really hasn't bothered to even touch the doll since. Again, maybe next year.

And of course she couldn't go without at least one sock on her foot. She loves to wear any kind of socks, shoes, booties, etc. Definately a shoe girl.

Traditionally, my mom always took pictures of us as kids on Christmas day with all of our presents. So, I have decided to carry on the tradition. Abby got the following gifts this year:
play table, lots of books, a baby doll, a Book of Mormon puzzle, a hand-sewn body pillow cover and heat pad from Grandma Ekins, and a sweater and shirt from Dad.

We hope you all enjoyed your Christmas as much as we did! See you next year!

Ang! Abby has got to be the cutest thing I have ever seen. She has mom written all over that cute little mug. I am so glad you are blogging. It is awesome to feel like I am back in touch with your life. I still think about Ricks days. I gave a talk in church a couple of weeks ago and shared a scripture that you shared with me right after we moved in together. I think about your influence often and am grateful for the blessing of your valiant life. Keep blogging! I am by no means the best, but I'm working on it. Oh, I love the music thing. I had to add to my blog, but I'm still working on a playlist. Love ya to pieces Ang. Happy New Year! - Amber

Hey girl: I had a blast with you over Christmas. No, thanks for putting up with me! You're the best and thanks again for all the blog help. Start teaching Abby that she needs to marry Max. She's a babe! Love you and talk to you soon! Louie
