7 Things
I've been tagged by my dear friend, Camille M., to mention seven things I learned in 2007 as well as seven goals I have for 2008.
Where to begin. Life is truly a journey and I'm just grateful to still feel like I'm going somewhere. A few things I learned this year include:
1. Any goal can be reached if one has the will and desire to do it. I know this full-heartedly, but I don't always apply my understanding to actually doing. So I'm going to take this knowledge and do something with it in 2008. See below.
2. I AM capable of a lot of things. We all are. But this year I realized that there is a lot more I can be doing to make a difference in my life as well as the life of others. It's been easy to settle in to a life of staying at home and being a good wife. And those two things alone are more than good enough to be doing with one's time. But even more can be done. And I want to do more.
3. I choose to be happy. Happiness doesn't stem from results only, it comes from the process we choose to undertake in seeking those results. And then the results are the icing on the cake.
4. Life doesn't always happen the way we truly know it will. The Lord likes to throw a curve ball when we'd least expect it. I used to think I was going to have seven kids like my mom. Who knows, I still might be able to... in a different than usual way.
5. My little Abby is seriously my joy and purpose. She makes me smile unlike any other person or thing. I love her excitement for the simple things and the way she makes others smile too.
6. I don't think there's any other man in this world that could understand me like Matt does.
7. Law School does have an ending. Hallelujah.
Seven goals for 2008:
1. Learn to play the guitar with my new guitar! Thanks Ash.
2. Run in the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon with Matt. We WILL cross the finish line... together.
3. Have another baby (or two... maybe three?)
4. Stick to a conservative budget to pay off a big chunk of student loan debt.
5. Pray more often.
6. Read more instead of watch TV at night when little one goes to sleep.
7. Do something I didn't do in 2007.
Okay, now I tag seven people to do the same thing - seven things you did in 2007 and seven goals for 2008 - Hill, Sig, Rachel D., Rachel H., Ang, Melanie, and Melissa. Enjoy!

Oh I love what you said about choosing to be happy. It's so easy to blame unhappiness on someone else. You are a gem Andrea. I dig your goals too.
I like this post. Hopefully I'll get to it before January runs out!
