Val's Visit to Indy

Val stopped in for a quick visit the day after Matt's return from Evansville and stayed for the weekend. We had about as much fun as you can have in just two days. After picking her up from the airport on Friday, we took her on a tour of the Law School, walked around the Canal Riverwalk downtown, went through the NCAA Hall of Fame, went for a bike ride on the Monon Trail and ate at a favorite Shapiro's Delicatessan. On Saturday, Val and Matt went for a walk/run and then headed down to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. When they got home, we all loaded in the car and headed to the mall hoping to climb on the rock wall at Dick's Sporting Goods. Unfortunately, the rock wall was closed. So we decided to shop for a bit and then eat at Bravo's Italian Restaurant. Mmmm. We then went home and enjoyed just hanging out. On Sunday we went to Stake Conference where two of the main speakers who are now the Mission President and Wife were once Val and Matt's piano teacher in Hinckley, Utah!! What a pleasant surprise! Val came at just the right time. Afterwards, we came home, had a fun/spiritual discussion, ate a good meal, and said our goodbyes before taking her to the airport.
We had so much fun with you Val. Thanks for taking the time to be with us! Good memories to last forever.

Ignore me and notice cute Abby with Val in the background. :) They both fell in love.

One more attempt to feed her baby food... we've about given up all hope!

Taking a shopping break!

Val is an amazing pianist and Abby wanted to be there for every stroke of the key.

Val has learned the correct way to do a sit-up from her husband in the army so she and Matt decided to have a sit-up contest. Val won... we won't say by how much. :)

Bike ride on the Monon

This little one didn't last too long.

The three of us adults had to squeeze together up front with Abby and one bike in the back seat. It was cozy!

Eating dinner Friday night at Shapiro's. This is where we ate the night I was induced with Abby and also when she was 6 days old. We kind of like the place.

Standing next to the car Tony Stewart drove the year we went to the race.

Baseball throwing competition at the NCAA Hall of Fame.

Matt was blocking soccer balls on a computer generated screen. Pretty cool.

Val once again played the song she wrote and sang for Matt and me at our wedding luncheon.

We had a lot of fun playing "Horse" in the gym at the NCAA Hall of Fame. Do you think she'll play like her mama? Who knows. As of right now, she's off the charts for height. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. :)

Second floor of the Law School where Matt studies every day.

In the court room defending her case!

Matt sits at a certain cubicle to study because he makes sure it's always clean. Where do you think he got that from?

On the Canal Riverwalk, they were advertising their new shark film at the Imax. Scary.
