Belated 10 year Celebration

To celebrate our 10 year anniversary, we decided to put it off until the first of October (I had bought tickets to the BYU vs. USU football game earlier in the year for Matt's birthday). So we dropped the kids off to Grandma Linda and Grandpa David and headed North to Provo. First stop: a little Brazilian eatery. Matt couldn't make it to his mission reunion this year, so we decided to at least get a small taste of Brasil during conference weekend.
The game was a lot of fun (and cold)! Even though USU lost and didn't play very well, it was fun laughing, talking, and cheering the team on with Matt. And of course we couldn't go to Cougar Stadium without tasting a mint brownie, a cougar tail, and roasted almonds! Trying new foods/new restaurants was a goal of ours this weekend. And eat we did!

The BYU band is amazing. Chills every time I listen to them play.

We got in late that night to Jen and Sabe's new place in Draper (thanks guys!) and then were up the next morning on our way to the first restaurant on the list: Gourmandise Bakery. Oh so yummy! We left with some pastries in hand and even some to share.

After breakfast, we were fortunate to already be so close to Salt Lake Regional where Tom and Hill became parents once again (baby #4) just the night before. Liam Carson Garner was born at 7 p.m. Friday night weighing in at 6 lbs. 1 oz. and 18 in. long. He is the tiniest, cutest, most perfect little boy! It was such an honor and privilege to hold him and be in that special room with Tom and Hill.

We spent the afternoon walking around/shopping at Salt Lake's City Creek and enjoyed a mid-afternoon snack at Blue Lemon. Oh I'm craving it again already! So good. Wish I could have tried more on the menu!
We then checked in to our room at Little America and decided to have dinner at one of our favorites - Market Street Grill. Jumbo shrimp, salad, clam chowder, halibut fish 'n chips, and my very new favorite... lobster bisque! You can tell how much I loved it in the picture below.:) Matt was quite entertained watching me eat.

We woke up the next morning (two nights in a row! without kids waking us up) and ate breakfast at Little America's buffet. Oh my goodness, yet another delicious meal! The ambiance reminded me so much of Jackson Hole (where we honeymooned) and Sun Valley. Funny thing, we learned that both Little America and the Sun Valley Lodge are part of the same family company. Go figure.

Thank you Matt for an awesome weekend! And to Grandma and Grandpa for making it all possible. After breakfast, we headed to Hinckley and enjoyed a beautiful lunch from Grandma and the afternoon session of conference. Could not ask for a better weekend!
