The last few months have been wonderful and yet a bit unique for our little family. I've had very little interest in a lot of things, including blogging. And lately all I want to do is just get through the day. It's not depression. How could I be depressed hanging out with two of the cutest kids in the whole world? It's something called hormones! And I've had a lot of them lately. But all for good reasons. Last September, we started down the in vitro road once again. And it's been quite the long, often bumpy, road. But we stayed on it until we got to the destination we were hoping for.
It is my honor, and with much gratitude, to say that we are expecting! I will be nine weeks this coming Sunday. Someday I will update with more details. It's a very special story to me. So many spiritual, emotional, psychological, physical highs and lows.
My personal journey thus far in life is one I wouldn't trade with anyone. The future is bright and I know that I can do anything with the help of the Lord and the prayers of family and friends.
Now on to some pictures of what we've been up to the first three months of 2012.
| Grandma Joyce and Papa Doug have been the greatest supporters I could ever ask for. They came and helped with the kids for two of the three retrievals AND for the transfer. The kids hardly knew we were gone. I will never be able to thank them enough for their love and support! |
| Matt's latest hobby has been canyoneering. He loves being outdoors and falling through tall gorges with the help of rope of course. One day he was excited to teach Abby a little rock climbing/canyoneering in our very own yard! She loves to hang out with Dad whenever she gets the chance. |
| Rett loves to get his haircut! |
| We have already been to Zion National Park three times this year. How could you not go there when you live just 45 minutes away? So beautiful! And of course we always get to eat at one of our favorites - Oscar's. |
| I don't know if you can tell in this picture, but Rett had a little too much fun playing in the mud on the side of our house after a couple of rainstorms. After about the third time finding him covered in mud from head to toe, I called the local Nursery and had them deliver bark to cover all the dirt/mud. I now have a lot less mess to clean up and the yard looks much better too! Sorry to ruin all your fun Buddy!:) |
| For my 32nd birthday, we took the kids to see The Lorax in 3D and then had dinner at 25 Main. |
| When we got home, there were a few gifts left by some of my friends on the front porch... including cupcakes from Sweet Tooth Fairy. Thanks Girls! |
| Wrestling with Papa Doug on one of his visits. |
| This picture will always be stamped in my memory. Grandpa AND Grandma with both kids on top! |
| Abby as the "Underwear Monster" as she calls it and a Tazmanian TuTu monster. |
| Abby is pretty proud of herself that she's capable of getting her very own cereal in the morning. Now if we can just teach Rett to not spill his milk on to the floor every morning that would be an achievement. |
| Matt set up the tent one Friday and the kids loved sleeping in it for two nights. I loved that I could make sure they were comfy and then sleep in my own bed. Our bedroom window is right where the tent was so we were close enough.:) |
| Popcorn and a movie at night... |
| Pancakes, eggs, bacon, and OJ in the morning. |
| Abby wanted to look all ready for her Kindergarten Registration. She can hardly wait to go to school every single day! |
| Crash and burn! Poor girl can't get enough of riding her bike and Razor scooter. This time she took a pretty hard crash. |
| There is a new place in St. George called Anti Gravity. It's filled with rows of trampolines and a few bounce houses. We went one night with Matt's family - the Olson's and the Smith's/Riley's. Everyone had soooo much fun that their faces were bright red. Some ladies got a kick out of watching Matt play like he was 10 again. I love that he loves being a kid sometimes. |
| This is a picture Abby drew (and taped real flowers on) of the happy married couple Camille and Scott Jones. The wedding was April 5th and I'm just waiting for some pictures to post of their big day! |

I'm so glad to see you posting again! Spending time with the kids was a wonderful opportunity for your dad and me. Each time we get to know them better, and we miss them already. You and Matt are doing such an amazing job as parents!!!
I love your little family, Ang. Seriously, all I have to do is see a picture of Rett and I laugh. He is ALL boy. I LOVE it! Can't wait to see you again!!
