Happy 5th Birthday Abby!

And she is loving every minute of being five! This little girl was dead set on having a "Hello Kitty" birthday party with her friends. She told me specific instructions on how she wanted her cake, what her party decorations would be, and what games would be played at the party. I did my best to meet her request and I have to say she was one happy kid!

There wasn't a single place in town that would make a Hello Kitty cake (because they don't own copyrights) so I had Costco make a plain white cake with a few flowers and words and then I had fun doing the rest!

For her birthday breakfast I surprised her with one of her favorites: a fresh chocolate bar from Harmon's:

of course Rett had to have one as well:

He ate the chocolate off the top and handed the rest to me!

Abby had me draw this poster so we could play "Put the Bow on Hello Kitty" instead of "Pin the Tail on the Donkey". We first had everyone color their own bow, then we put tape on the back and had them play. After everyone had their turn, we attached hair clips onto the bows and let the kids wear them the rest of the party. The one and only boy that came wore his on his shirt collar!

We had the party at the park right next door to our house:

Abby was so excited that Dad came home from work early to join us for the party!

L to R: Bridger, Kambria, Taia, Abby, Sophie, Kate, and Malynn

One of her favorite gifts was a Rapunzel dress from Grandma Joyce:

But she loved everything everyone gave her! A bead-making kit, a wood stamping kit, mini Tangled figurines, a My Little Pony hot air balloon, and others. We gave her the movie Tangled and a Rapunzel wig to wear with her new dress for Halloween.

We forgot the matches for her party so she blew one out just before heading to bed for the night!

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl! We love you very much!!

Cute cute birthday girl! Ang...will you shoot me an email sometime about your thoughts (pros/cons) of living in St. George? (You guys DO live in St. George right? Or am I up in the night?!) I really really don't like the cold up here, of course I'd rather live in Arizona. But I don't think Nate's going to go for AZ, so I'm hoping to convince him on St. George. My email is sayshanielson@gmail.com. Just whenev...no rush. :o) Thanks!

I'm finally catching up on blogs since I returned from our trip. What a fun party Abby had!!! She is such a darling, fun girl. Andrea, you did such a great job decorating Abby's cake--great idea. You couldn't have asked for a better place to have a party than your neighborhood park right next door! I can't believe we have missed seeing you the last two times you have come up north. We're looking forward to coming down the first part of December. Tell the kids we're excited to see them.
