Heaven Abby has been quite inquisitive the past couple of days regarding death and Heaven. She saw an episode of "Little House on the Prairie" where a husband/father died. Some of her comments/questions have been: "I don't want to die" repeatedly "When will I get to come back home after I die?" "Are there playgrounds in Heaven?" "Are their blue and pink baby blankets and bottles in Heaven?" "What about food in Heaven?" And some of my responses have been: "Heaven is our home... it's where we lived before you came to our family and it's where we'll go to all be together forever someday." "Only nice people live in Heaven. The bad guys go somewhere else. We get to be there with Heavenly Father and Jesus and they'll take care of us." "Yes, sometimes little kids die but Heavenly Father and Jesus take extra good care of them." "Someday you'll not only get to live forever with your mom, dad, and brother, but also your cousins, grandmas and grandpas, etc." I wonder what the next "big topic" of conversation will be. She's really had me thinking though about death, dying, Heaven, and togetherness. I was trimming/watering the very plant Mom gave me from Grandma Rigby's funeral almost nine years ago. I love to look at it each day as it reminds me of her. And just out of the blue, what do you know, Abby says to me, "Mom, are you excited to be with your grandma's someday?" I then proceeded to tell her where the plant came from. It amazes me at how intuitive these sweet little spirits are. In all the nine years we've had the plant, it's only blossomed four times. Something special happened in each of those years. I'm excited to see what lies ahead this year. Who am I fooling though? Something special happens every day right in front of my very eyes. And yes, I am excited to be with my grandma's again someday. I also told Abby that my grandma's held her and played with her before they sent her to me. I think that she now knows that Heaven might not be so bad after all.

That was quite the conversation Ang. I loved your answers and how sweet of Abby to be so curious. Thanks for sharing that.

Thanks for making me cry and get wrinkle cream in my eyes. Seriously, Ang, that was awesome. That's so cool about that plant and Abby's sweet questions. I love kids. And I miss Grandma. Both of them. We're lucky to know what we know. Love you!
