Summer Games 2010
Two Saturdays ago, Matt and I surprised his dad by showing up to Cedar City to run the Summer Games 5k with him. It was a lot of fun and I had my best 5k time yet - 27:31.9.
Just this past Saturday, I competed in the Summer Games Sprint Triathlon - 1/2 mile open water swim, 12.4 mile bike ride, and a 3.1 mile run. My goal was to finish in less than two hours and I did! It was an awesome experience and something I hope to do again soon. Thanks to Matt and the kids for their support in letting me train a lot these last few weeks. They were the best cheerleaders anyone could ask for!
My reaction just after seeing my final time: 1:46:45.4. At this point the race wasn't over yet. Many competitors were yet to come across the finish line. Supposedly, my age division, 30-34, is the most competetive. I was happy to see that I was eighth in my division out of who knows.

Ang, way to go!! What a good feeling I'm sure to finish a race. I've never done one, but can imagine the feeling. Way to train and reach your goal. You look awesome too!
Andrea, I am so proud of you!!! You always have had a competitive spirit and a willingness to work extremely hard to accomplish your goal. Way to go!!!
That's awesome Andrea! I didn't know you were doing a triathlon! Definitely on my "to do" list one of these days...except that I stink at swimming! I want to hear all about it! Good job!
SOooooooooOOOOoooo cool, Ang.
I'm jealous :)
Clearly it is unanimous - you ROCK!
One question: did you clip in to your road bike or just use your running shoes? I'm assuming since you used your friend's bike you used your own shoes. ; )
Congrats. That is seriously so, so cool.
