Abby's 3rd Birthday!

We had a fun-filled birthday. The day before we went shopping and I let her pick out her "birthday cereal". She's a girl after my own heart because she picked Fruity Pebbles. And of course it's the first thing she asked for the morning of her birthday in which she woke up extra early. We went and did a little more shopping that morning and then to Wendy's for a birthday lunch of hamburger, fries, chocolate milk and chocolate frosty.
And THEN it was her big birthday bash! Seven of Abby's friends showed up ready to partay! We had fun starting things off with the song "Here We Are Together (at Abby's party... there's Abby and Ella and Brenna, etc.)" - my mom used to do this at my birthday parties growing up. Then we did some of Abby's favorite things - played "Ring Around the Rosies", "Duck, Duck, Goose", the Freeze Dance game, and singing Primary songs while Mom played the piano. We quickly then transitioned to opening presents and boy was Abby in Heaven! She got Barbies, Play-doh, puzzles, princess dominoes, and more. We ended the party with some princess cupcakes and little thank you bags with a balloon for each friend. Thanks to everyone for coming!

This was pretty funny... it took Abby several times to blow out her THREE candles. :) She was determined to blow those things out and we sure had fun watching.

And then of course everyone wanted to blow out their own candle... a couple of times. So we sang Happy Birthday to Everyone... a couple of times.
Later that day, I was a volunteer at the Huntsman Senior World Games as a scorekeeper for two softball games. So Dad and the kids came along for the ride and watched a bit of baseball and also play on the playground. Afterwards, we all went to Cafe Rio. Finally, to end the day, we went to Iceberg to share a banana split. Probably the cutest part of the entire day was Dad and Abby dancing to 50's music in the Iceberg parking lot. Everyone was watching them through the window with smiles on their faces and they didn't care one bit! I wish I had the video camera.
We love you Abby so so so much! Lets do this again next year!

Ang, soo cute. Abby cracks me up. I love how simple this birthday party was and not so overly done, like I think we're pressured to feel sometimes as mom's to do! Abby will remember this day. I love the birthday cereal idea and I can totally remember now mom singing "here we are together..." on our birthdays. And I'm not surprised one bit that you ate out for almost every meal:) That's my Ang.

love ya, heath

What a great Birthday! Happy Birthday, Abby. Andrea, will you plan my birthday in May? Just like this one. I want princess cupcakes and I love the crowns they all got to wear. As a little girl, I hated all things girl, so I'm making up for it now with my love for Disney princesses and pink! Seriously! I love it! Perfectly simple. You're a wonderful mom!
