FAMILY - July 2009

July has been full of great times with extended family. First, we spent the 4th with Matt's parents in Hinckley, then Abby and I went up North to be with my parents and siblings (along with their kids and some husbands) for about a week, and then back to Hinckley for the 24th and Matt's grandpa's 90th birthday bash. So much to do, so much and so many to see, yet so few pictures. When you're large and in charge there's not a lot of motivation to capture a lot of pictures. But soon to come will be pictures that my awesome sister Jen took of Abby. Can't wait!

My parents took all that belonged to them to Lagoon for a day. It was a blast to see the little ones enjoying themselves on all the rides. Thank you so much Mom and Dad for making the day so fun!

Going on a train ride at the end of the night just after Abby enjoyed some chocolate ice cream from Grandpa! We have a tradition to get ice cream in Pioneer Village.

Ashley with McKay and Ruby

This day was also McKay's 4th birthday and Abby had fun hanging out with these two all day and all week. She misses them already. I miss hearing Ruby and Abby giggle. :)

Elsie and Abby

All the little ones lined up waiting for their turn to ride!

I was so proud of Abby in being able to ride every ride we put her on. The only ones that seemed to really scare her were Puff the Magic Dragon (my favorite as a kid) and The Log Ride (one that eventually became another fav after bawling my eyes out the first time around - Dad remembers the ride well :)).

It was my first time spending the 24th in Hinckley. That meant first time for the Hinckley Parade and Hinckley Rodeo. That little town puts on quite the show! We had such a fun day. It was great meeting/getting to know better some of Matt's cousins and aunts and uncles. Abby had a lot of fun playing with her cousins on the other side.

Matt's grandpa who is 90 years old was and still is a mortician in ole Delta, Utah. His only son and one of his grandson's help run the mortuary today. So everyone around knows the family well. His grandson who works for him drove an old hearse in the parade and everyone loved it. On the back, there was a sign that read, "We'll be the last ones to let you down."

Some of Grandpa's great-grandkids were able to ride in the parade to give honor to the man.

And Abby of course had fun gathering lots of candy!

It was so fun to see you guys. You look great Ang, hang in there! I cannot believe it's already been 10 years since your brain surgery. Amazing! I still remember vividly visiting you in the hospital. I'm so glad for modern medicine too!
