36 Week Check-up
Yesterday (Thursday) marked 36 weeks and my appointment was just the day before. Things are going well... everything still looks on target. Head is down, heartbeat is strong, and the baby surely moves! My nurse practictioner checked my dilation and said I'm at a 1 or 2 with 50% effacement. I said, "Is that normal for 36 weeks?" At first she said yes, but then said there's a chance I could go a bit early. A bit? I'm trying to remain calm and not get overly excited here. Though having this kid early would be kind of nice. The Braxton Hicks are pretty painful and I have very little desire to leave my house and enter the extreme heat. I prefer the indoors just chillin' in my "angel suit"! But at the same time, it's always a blessing when they can stay inside of you for as long as possible. Just not too long, please?
Abby is just about as excited as me for her "baby brudder" to come. She'll come up to me, lay her head on my stomach and say, "I wuv my baby brudder". And then she'll almost get frustrated and say, "I want my baby brudder to come wight now!"
She has been a great help to me around the house lately. I'll tell her thank you and she'll often say, "You're welcome, Mom." I can't wait to see her interact with this kid. If she loves and adores him anything like she does her doll and George, then he will definately be cherished by her.
