Graduation, Family in Town, Packing, and Finally... The Move!

May Madness for the Ekins. My apologies for slacking in the blog world. Now that we FINALLY have the Internet up and running, I'll give you a quick overview of our lives for the last few weeks.

Matt had his law school graduation commencement on May 10th. His parents and sister Val, along with my parents all flew out for the occasion. It was so great to have their support and enthusiasm. We had a really fun and busy week eating out, shopping, and, of course, doing last-minute touches on the house before moving out. We even managed to get a graduation party in at our friend's house (thank you Chris and Danielle for lending your home!). I had so many other things on my mind that I forgot my camera ALL day. But, don't despair, you can check out my mom's blog at www.sixgirlsoneboy.blogspot.com for pictures.

The next day was Mother's Day and how great it was for both of us to spend it with both mothers. Matt spoke in Sacrament Meeting and friend Danielle gave the lesson in Relief Society. After church, Matt made us all some tasty BBQ ribs (Mother's Day tradition) and we enjoyed exchanging cards, gifts, etc.

Monday was CRAZY! Everyone but my dad, Matt, Abby, and myself flew home by afternoon, and the rest of the day was spent packing up the 24' truck. Thanks to those who came to help (Scott, Emily, Ryan, and Jared... hope I'm not forgetting anyone). We said our goodbyes to the neighbors and to the new tenants (friends Scott and Emily) and were gone by 5ish. The Foutz were awesome to let us stay our final night in Indy at their home. We enjoyed a nice meal and a cozy sleep and were out the door the next day by 6 a.m.

I flew to SLC with Abby and Matt and Dad drove for the next two days across the country. I was able to hang out at home for those days and got to spend time with Garners, Hydes, and Heather. Matt and I then made the trip down South on Friday and were met at the house by Matt's sis Natalie and her three kids. They were SO much help. Sebrina played with Abby while the rest of us (Natalie and Kevin's crew of men) moved everything into the house. And the rest is history. We are finally settled in and enjoying every minute. It's a great place to be and we feel so fortunate to be somewhere that feels "right".

Thank you to EVERYONE who has supported us in our effort to pick up and leave Indy so quick and make our way here to Utah. We could not have done it without each of your support. Hopefully we can get all caught up with YOU now that we're somewhat caught up with ourselves. ;)

Matt and Dad stayed the first night in Manhattan, KS with the Olsons (Val and her family). This is a picture of Matt with Val's husband Kelly. They took great care of the boys that night and even fed them a steak dinner. Thanks you guys!

Me with Natalie and her kids in front of our new place the day we moved in.

Abby had gone way too long without a nail clipping and the ONLY way I can do it is when she's asleep. To avoid waking her up, Matt gave me his trusted headlamp. Awkward, but it worked great. She just had to sleep in her nail clippings all night, but she had no idea.

Enjoying her new tubbie! Her hair is getting so long.

She was exhausted!

Andrea and Matt,

We are so excited your internet is up and running so we can see the picts and share in everything.

Send picts of your house, eh? Abby is getting cuter and cuter everyday.
